Fellowship
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. ~ Acts 2:42-47 (NIV)It was the day of Pentecost - the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on believers. They couldn't help but hang out together. It has come to be known as fellowship. Unfortunately in the modern age fellowship seems to be contained to a particular time and place, before or after Sunday morning services. Or it is another church event that involves food.
This week the fellowship amongst the community of Christ involved 2 trucks, a van, a few cars, donated boxes, a garage, some heavy lifting, and an outpouring of a lot of sweat.
Living in a time and place in which people disconnected to each other it is always a joy to the see the community of Christ rises up and fulfills a need. My hope is that you can find a new creative way to fellowship with your brother and sisters anew.
